At Impiana

Feel free to meander over the paddocks while you visit the cows (be mindful of electric fences and don’t forget to shut the gates behind you) and enjoy the seclusion of this expanse of farmland on the hills. Or search for the resident koalas amongst the native trees, and spot wallabies and countless species of birdlife. One recent guest spotted over 40 different species!

The very adventurous may wish to scramble through the distant scrub and bush to find the creek amongst the fern gullies.

Follow the mysterious and meditative labyrinth path in the garden between Pelangi and Sri Menanti. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has only a single non-branching path which leads to the centre and back and is not designed to be difficult to navigate. Building the labyrinth was a labour of love that reflects the journey of the owners in establishing and continuing to develop the estate.

Both Pelangi and Sri Menanti have a selection of well-loved games, puzzles, books and DVDs to keep you occupied if the weather keeps you indoors

The Visitor Information Centre in nearby Apollo Bay can advise you on the many recreational activities this region has to offer, including maps and walking guides of the local area. The rainforest walks and waterfalls of the Otways are particularly stunning. The Otway Fly rainforest canopy observation deck is a slow drive through spectacular rainforest about 25 kilometres away.

There are swimming and surfing beaches at Skenes Creek and Apollo Bay a short drive away. At Apollo Bay you can learn to surf, go surf fishing, play a round of golf, or try spotting the magnificent Southern Right Whales along the Coast (from May to October).

For a fine dining experience, Chris’ restaurant at nearby Beacon Point offers contemporary Greek cuisine. However if you wish to cook in the well-equipped kitchen or BBQ, fresh seafood can be purchased in Apollo Bay, and there are also two supermarkets in the town.
